TBS & TNT All Access Pass: Essence Music Festival

TBS & TNT delivered  a behind-the-scences “All Access Pass” to the  2011 Essence Music Festival. We have the inside scoop on All Access weekend.

Over day 1 & 2  TBS & TNT ALL Access included an array of activities from Day parties and VIP screenings, to Celeb appearances.

Day 1

Hit off with a screening with the casts of House of Payne (Keshia Knight Pulliam & Demetria McKinney), Meet the Browns (David & Tamela Mann) and Memphis Beat (DJ Qualls, Keb’ Mo’ & Leonard Earl Howze) took place throughout the day, where fans and VIP’s had the chance to meet and greet and collect autographs from cast members.

 

 

Day 2

Began with a booth appearance and V.I.P. Screening with Southland’s ReginaKing, hosted by comedian George Wilborn at Harrah’s Casino Theater.

TBS & TNT partied into the evening with the “Rock the Block” Day Party at the New Orleans Board of Trade. Where Celebs and guest weren’t afraid to  Rock their body to sounds by DJ Biz Markie

Patti Labelle to Receive the Lifetime Achievement Award

BET announced Tuesday that soul singer, Patti Labelle is to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for their 11th annual award show, premiering June 26.

The 67 year-old music icon will be recognized for her history making successes throughout her career. From the Bluebells, her solo career, to her entrepreneurial accomplishments, BET will pay tribute to the iconic soul star.

Labelle has shown to be a women of transcendence through the years, as her music career stretched over five decades. The soul sister will added to the list of BET’s previous award winners  such as, Prince, Micheal Jackson, Diana Ross & Al Green to name a few. This year’s award show is expected to be one of the hottest shows of the summer!! And I just can’t stop thinking which celebrity will belt that high note from Lady Marmalade during the tribute. Guess we’ll just have to stay tuned to find out!!!

The 2011 BET Awards hosted by Kevin Hart will be held in Los Angeles at the Shrine Auditorium 8pm ET.

Alicia Keys Fights for Aids

Alicia Keys attended a United Nations conference held in New York on Tuesday in support of the fight against AIDS.

The singer, who has long supported the cause, spoke at an event titled HIV Priorities for Positive Change, which took place ahead of today’s crucial discussion between world leaders to outline their plans for battling the global pandemic over the next decade.

Keys gave a powerful speech at the panel then soon after the event tweeted,

The songtress exemplifies the qualities of a true humanitarian as she received the BET Humanitarian Award in 2009 for her work with her organization Keep A Child Alive, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing treatment to children and families with HIV/AIDS in Africa and the developing world.
